{"id":1370,"date":"2022-11-08T15:15:28","date_gmt":"2022-11-08T15:15:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/stevebelsheim.com\/?p=1370"},"modified":"2024-01-16T20:18:04","modified_gmt":"2024-01-16T20:18:04","slug":"is-the-doctrine-of-baptismal-regeneration-the-road-to-hell-post-16-saved-by-faith-alone-multiple-selected-scriptures","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.stevebelsheim.com\/?p=1370","title":{"rendered":"Is the Doctrine of Baptismal Regeneration the Road to Hell? \u2013 Post 16 (Saved by Faith Alone \u2013 Multiple Selected Scriptures)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong><u>INTRODUCTION<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Post 4 discussed the <strong><u>fundamental principle<\/u><\/strong> set forth in ARTICLE XVII (Chicago Statement on Biblical Hermeneutics), which reads:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>We affirm the unity, harmony and consistency of Scripture and declare that it is its own best interpreter.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>This principle has been called the \u201canalogy of faith.\u201d&nbsp; One article entitled \u201cThe Analogy of Faith: Does Scripture Interpret Scripture?\u201d by Thomas A. Home (June 11, 2009) at the Christian Research Institute website (link: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.equip.org\/articles\/the-analogy-of-faith\/\">https:\/\/www.equip.org\/articles\/the-analogy-of-faith\/<\/a> ) expands upon on the analogy of faith:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>The analogy of faith is not the principle that Scripture interprets Scripture, but that&nbsp;<em>all Scripture is in agreement and will not contradict itself<\/em>.&nbsp; <strong><u>It assumes the unity and harmony of teaching throughout the Bible.<\/u><\/strong> In other words, when multiple passages say something about a topic (either explicitly or implicitly), then what those passages say about that topic will be consistent and will not be contradictory.&nbsp; \u2026 The analogy of faith forces us to dig further to understand how passages that appear to be contradictory should be understood.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>This brings us to another aspect of the analogy of faith, that is, that <strong><u>we should interpret unclear passages in light of clear passages, not the other way around.<\/u><\/strong> Milton Terry says the expression&nbsp;<em>analogy of faith<\/em>&nbsp;\u201cdenotes that general harmony of fundamental doctrine which pervades the entire Scriptures.\u2026No single statement or obscure passage of one book can be allowed to set aside a doctrine which is clearly established by many passages. The obscure texts must be interpreted in the light of those which are plain and positive.\u201d<sup>2<\/sup>&nbsp; [Footnote 2 reads: Milton S. Terry,&nbsp;<em>Biblical Hermeneutics: A Treatise on the Interpretation of the Old and New Testaments<\/em>, vol. 2,&nbsp;<em>Library of Biblical and Theological Literature<\/em>, ed. George R. Crooks and John F. Hurst (New York: Phillips &amp; Hunt, 1883),579.]&nbsp; When a particular passage is unclear to us, we can and should go to other passages that address the same topic more clearly in order to help us understand the unclear passage.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>In reference to the application of the analogy of faith to this analysis, many texts identify <em>pisteu\u014d<\/em> alone as the necessary requirement for salvation.&nbsp; My analysis of the texts baptismal regenerationists use for support must factor in the many <em>pisteu\u014d<\/em> alone texts since they contradict the doctrine of baptismal regeneration.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Set out below are many New Testament texts that use <em>pisteu\u014d<\/em> in a salvation context and not in proximity to water baptism.&nbsp; To arrive at the below listing, I evaluated a listing of all the New Testament passages that clearly used <em>pisteu\u014d<\/em> in the context of salvation.&nbsp; I tried to be objective and I hope I carried out that goal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><u>SELECTED NEW TESTAMENT PASSAGES THAT USE <em>pisteu\u014d<\/em> ALONE<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The below texts contain usages of <em>pisteu\u014d<\/em> alone and not in close proximity to a reference to water baptism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mark 1:15 (NASB95) &#8211; <sup>15<\/sup> and saying, \u201cThe time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and <strong><u>believe<\/u><\/strong> in the gospel.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Luke 8:12\u201313 (NASB95) &#8211; <sup>12<\/sup> \u201cThose beside the road are those who have heard; then the devil comes and takes away the word from their heart, so that <strong><u>they will<\/u><\/strong> not <strong><u>believe<\/u><\/strong> and be saved. <sup>13<\/sup> \u201cThose on the rocky <em>soil are<\/em> those who, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no <em>firm<\/em> root; they <strong><u>believe<\/u><\/strong> for a while, and in time of temptation fall away. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>John 1:12-13 (NASB95) &#8211; <sup>12<\/sup> But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, <em>even<\/em> to those who <strong><u>believe <\/u><\/strong>in His name, <sup>13<\/sup> who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>John 3:14\u201318 (NASB95) &#8211; <sup>14<\/sup> \u201cAs Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up; <sup>15<\/sup> so that whoever <strong><u>believes<\/u><\/strong> will in Him have eternal life. <sup>16<\/sup> \u201cFor God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever <strong><u>believes<\/u><\/strong> in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. <sup>17<\/sup> \u201cFor God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him. <sup>18<\/sup> \u201cHe who <strong><u>believes <\/u><\/strong>in Him is not judged; he who <strong><u>does<\/u><\/strong> not <strong><u>believe<\/u><\/strong> has been judged already, because <strong><u>he has<\/u><\/strong> not <strong><u>believed<\/u><\/strong> in the name of the only begotten Son of God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>John 3:36 (NASB95) &#8211; <sup>36<\/sup> \u201cHe who <strong><u>believes<\/u><\/strong> in the Son has eternal life; but he who does not obey the Son will not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>John 4:39\u201342 (NASB95) &#8211; <sup>39<\/sup> From that city many of the Samaritans <strong><u>believed <\/u><\/strong>in Him because of the word of the woman who testified, \u201cHe told me all the things that I <em>have<\/em> done.\u201d <sup>40<\/sup> So when the Samaritans came to Jesus, they were asking Him to stay with them; and He stayed there two days. <sup>41<\/sup> Many more <strong><u>believed<\/u><\/strong> because of His word; <sup>42<\/sup> and they were saying to the woman, \u201cIt is no longer because of what you said that <strong><u>we believe<\/u><\/strong>, for we have heard for ourselves and know that this One is indeed the Savior of the world.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>John 5:24 (NASB95) &#8211; <sup>24<\/sup> \u201cTruly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My word, and <strong><u>believes<\/u><\/strong> Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>John 6:35 (NASB95) &#8211; <sup>35<\/sup> Jesus said to them, \u201cI am the bread of life; he who comes to Me will not hunger, and he who <strong><u>believes<\/u><\/strong> in Me will never thirst.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>John 6:40 (NASB95) &#8211; <sup>40<\/sup> \u201cFor this is the will of My Father, that everyone who beholds the Son and <strong><u>believes<\/u><\/strong> in Him will have eternal life, and I Myself will raise him up on the last day.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>John 6:47 (NASB95) &#8211; <sup>47<\/sup> \u201cTruly, truly, I say to you, he who <strong><u>believes<\/u><\/strong> has eternal life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>John 7:38\u201339 (NASB95) &#8211; <sup>38<\/sup> \u201cHe who <strong><u>believes <\/u><\/strong>in Me, as the Scripture said, \u2018From his innermost being will flow rivers of living water.\u2019&nbsp;\u201d <sup>39<\/sup> But this He spoke of the Spirit, whom those who <strong><u>believed<\/u><\/strong> in Him were to receive; for the Spirit was not yet <em>given,<\/em> because Jesus was not yet glorified.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>John 8:23-24 (NASB95) &#8211;<sup>23<\/sup> And He was saying to them, \u201cYou are from below, I am from above; you are of this world, I am not of this world. &nbsp;<sup>24<\/sup> \u201cTherefore I said to you that you will die in your sins; for unless <strong><u>you believe<\/u><\/strong> that I am <em>He<\/em>, you will die in your sins.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>John 11:25\u201326 (NASB95) &#8211; <sup>25<\/sup> Jesus said to her, \u201cI am the resurrection and the life; he who <strong><u>believes<\/u><\/strong> in Me will live even if he dies, <sup>26<\/sup> and everyone who lives and <strong><u>believes<\/u><\/strong> in Me will never die. <strong><u>Do you believe<\/u><\/strong> this?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>John 11:40 (NASB95) &#8211; <sup>40<\/sup> Jesus said to her, \u201cDid I not say to you that if <strong><u>you believe<\/u><\/strong>, you will see the glory of God?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>John 12:35-36 (NASB95) &#8211;<sup>35<\/sup> So Jesus said to them, \u201cFor a little while longer the Light is among you. Walk while you have the Light, so that darkness will not overtake you; he who walks in the darkness does not know where he goes. &nbsp;<sup>36<\/sup> \u201cWhile you have the Light, <strong><u>believe<\/u><\/strong> in the Light, so that you may become sons of Light.\u201d <strong>These<\/strong> things Jesus spoke, and He went away and hid Himself from them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>John 12:44-46 (NASB95) &#8211;<sup>44<\/sup> And Jesus cried out and said, \u201cHe who believes in Me, does not believe in Me but in Him who sent Me. <sup>45<\/sup> \u201cHe who sees Me sees the One who sent Me. <sup>46<\/sup> \u201cI have come <em>as<\/em> Light into the world, so that everyone who <strong><u>believes<\/u><\/strong> in Me will not remain in darkness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>John 20:29 (NASB95) &#8211; <sup>29<\/sup> Jesus said to him, \u201cBecause you have seen Me, <strong><u>have you believed<\/u><\/strong>? Blessed <em>are<\/em> they who did not see, and <em>yet<\/em> believed.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>John 20:31 (NASB95) &#8211; <sup>31<\/sup> but these have been written so that <strong><u>you may believe<\/u><\/strong> that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that <strong><u>believing <\/u><\/strong>you may have life in His name.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Acts 4:4 (NASB95) &#8211; <sup>4<\/sup> But many of those who had heard the message <strong><u>believed<\/u><\/strong>; and the number of the men came to be about five thousand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Acts 4:32 (NASB95) &#8211; <sup>32<\/sup> And the congregation of those who <strong><u>believed<\/u><\/strong> were of one heart and soul; and not one <em>of them<\/em> claimed that anything belonging to him was his own, but all things were common property to them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Acts 9:42 (NASB95) &#8211; <sup>42<\/sup> It became known all over Joppa, and many <strong><u>believed <\/u><\/strong>in the Lord.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Acts 10:43 (NASB95) &#8211;<sup>42<\/sup> \u201cAnd He ordered us to preach to the people, and solemnly to testify that this is the One who has been appointed by God as Judge of the living and the dead. &nbsp;<sup>43<\/sup> \u201cOf Him all the prophets bear witness that through His name everyone who <strong><u>believes<\/u><\/strong> in Him receives forgiveness of sins.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Acts 11:15\u201318 (NASB95) &#8211; <sup>15<\/sup> \u201cAnd as I began to speak, the Holy Spirit fell upon them just as <em>He did<\/em> upon us at the beginning. <sup>16<\/sup> \u201cAnd I remembered the word of the Lord, how He used to say, \u2018John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.\u2019 <sup>17<\/sup> \u201cTherefore if God gave to them the same gift as <em>He gave<\/em> to us also <strong><u>after believing<\/u><\/strong> in the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I that I could stand in God\u2019s way?\u201d <sup>18<\/sup> When they heard this, they quieted down and glorified God, saying, \u201cWell then, God has granted to the Gentiles also the repentance <em>that leads<\/em> to life.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Acts 11:21 (NASB95) &#8211; <sup>20<\/sup> But there were some of them, men of Cyprus and Cyrene, who came to Antioch and <em>began<\/em> speaking to the Greeks also, preaching the Lord Jesus. <sup>21<\/sup> And the hand of the Lord was with them, and a large number who <strong><u>believed<\/u><\/strong> turned to the Lord.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Acts 13:12 (NASB95) &#8211; <sup>12<\/sup> Then the proconsul <strong><u>believed<\/u><\/strong> when he saw what had happened, being amazed at the teaching of the Lord.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Acts 13:39 (NASB95) &#8211; <sup>38<\/sup> \u201cTherefore let it be known to you, brethren, that through Him forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you, <sup>39<\/sup> and through Him everyone who <strong><u>believes<\/u><\/strong> is freed from all things, from which you could not be freed through the Law of Moses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Acts 13:48 (NASB95) &#8211; <sup>48<\/sup> When the Gentiles heard this, they <em>began<\/em> rejoicing and glorifying the word of the Lord; and as many as had been appointed to eternal life <strong><u>believed<\/u><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Acts 14:1 (NASB95) &#8211; <sup>1<\/sup> In Iconium they entered the synagogue of the Jews together, and spoke in such a manner that a large number of people <strong><u>believed<\/u><\/strong>, both of Jews and of Greeks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Acts 14:23 (NASB95) &#8211; <sup>23<\/sup> When they had appointed elders for them in every church, having prayed with fasting, they commended them to the Lord in whom <strong><u>they had believed<\/u><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Acts 15:5 (NASB95) &#8211; <sup>5<\/sup> But some of the sect of the Pharisees <strong><u>who had believed<\/u><\/strong> stood up, saying, \u201cIt is necessary to circumcise them and to direct them to observe the Law of Moses.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Acts 15:7 (NASB95) &#8211; <sup>7<\/sup> After there had been much debate, Peter stood up and said to them, \u201cBrethren, you know that in the early days God made a choice among you, that by my mouth the Gentiles would hear the word of the gospel and <strong><u>believe<\/u><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Acts 16:31 (NASB95) &#8211; <sup>31<\/sup> They said, \u201c<strong><u>Believe<\/u><\/strong> in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Acts 17:12 (NASB95) &#8211; <sup>11<\/sup> Now these were more noble-minded than those in Thessalonica, for they received the word with great eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily <em>to see<\/em> whether these things were so. <sup>12<\/sup> Therefore many of them <strong><u>believed<\/u><\/strong>, along with a number of prominent Greek women and men.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Acts 17:34 (NASB95) &#8211; <sup>3<\/sup> For what does the Scripture say? \u201cAbraham <strong><u>believed<\/u><\/strong> God, and it was credited to him as righteousness.\u201d &nbsp;<sup>4<\/sup> Now to the one who works, his wage is not credited as a favor, but as what is due. &nbsp;<sup>5<\/sup> But to the one who does not work, but <strong><u>believes<\/u><\/strong> in Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is credited as righteousness,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Romans 4:10-11 (NASB95) &#8211; <sup>10<\/sup> How then was it credited? While he was circumcised, or uncircumcised? Not while circumcised, but while uncircumcised; &nbsp;<sup>11<\/sup> and he received the sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness of the faith which he had while uncircumcised, so that he might be the father of all <strong><u>who believe<\/u><\/strong> without being circumcised, that righteousness might be credited to them,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Romans 4:17\u201318 (NASB95) &#8211; <sup>17<\/sup> (as it is written, \u201cA father of many nations have I made you\u201d) in the presence of Him whom <strong><u>he believed<\/u><\/strong>, <em>even<\/em> God, who gives life to the dead and calls into being that which does not exist. <sup>18<\/sup> In hope against hope he <strong><u>believed<\/u><\/strong>, so that he might become a father of many nations according to that which had been spoken, \u201cSo shall your descendants be.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Romans 4:24 (NASB95) &#8211; <sup>24<\/sup> but for our sake also, to whom it will be credited, as those who <strong><u>believe <\/u><\/strong>in Him who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Romans 9:33 (NASB95) &#8211; <sup>33<\/sup> just as it is written, \u201cBehold, I lay in Zion a stone of stumbling and a rock of offense, And he who <strong><u>believes<\/u><\/strong> in Him will not be disappointed.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Romans 10:4 (NASB95) &#8211; <sup>4<\/sup> For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who <strong><u>believes<\/u><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Romans 10:9\u201314 (NASB95) &#8211; <sup>9<\/sup> that if you confess with your mouth Jesus <em>as<\/em> Lord, and <strong><u>believe <\/u><\/strong>in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; <sup>10<\/sup> for with the heart a person <strong><u>believes<\/u><\/strong>, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation. <sup>11<\/sup> For the Scripture says, \u201cWhoever <strong><u>believes<\/u><\/strong> in Him will not be disappointed.\u201d <sup>12<\/sup> For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same <em>Lord<\/em> is Lord of all, abounding in riches for all who call on Him; <sup>13<\/sup> for \u201cWhoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved.\u201d <sup>14<\/sup> How then will they call on Him in whom <strong><u>they have<\/u><\/strong> not <strong><u>believed<\/u><\/strong>? How <strong><u>will they believe<\/u><\/strong> in Him whom they have not heard? And how will they hear without a preacher?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Romans 13:11 (NASB95) &#8211; <sup>11<\/sup> <em>Do<\/em> this, knowing the time, that it is already the hour for you to awaken from sleep; for now salvation is nearer to us than when <strong><u>we believed<\/u><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1 Corinthians 1:21 (NASB95) &#8211; <sup>21<\/sup> For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not <em>come to<\/em> know God, God was well-pleased through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who <strong><u>believe<\/u><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1 Corinthians 3:5 (NASB95) &#8211; <sup>5<\/sup> What then is Apollos? And what is Paul? These things are good and profitable for men.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hebrews 4:3 (NASB95) &#8211; <sup>3<\/sup> For we who <strong><u>have believed<\/u><\/strong> enter that rest, just as He has said, \u201cAs I swore in My wrath, They shall not enter My rest,\u201d although His works were finished from the foundation of the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hebrews 11:6 (NASB95) &#8211; <sup>6<\/sup> And without faith it is impossible to please <em>Him<\/em>, for he who comes to God must <strong><u>believe<\/u><\/strong> that He is and <em>that<\/em> He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>James 2:23 (NASB95) &#8211; <sup>23<\/sup> and the Scripture was fulfilled which says, \u201cAnd Abraham <strong><u>believed<\/u><\/strong> God, and it was reckoned to him as righteousness,\u201d and he was called the friend of God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1 Peter 1:8 (NASB95) &#8211; <sup>8<\/sup> and though you have not seen Him, you love Him, and though you do not see Him now, but <strong><u>believe<\/u><\/strong> in Him, you greatly rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1 Peter 2:6\u20137 (NASB95) &#8211; <sup>6<\/sup> For <em>this<\/em> is contained in Scripture: \u201cBehold, I lay in Zion a choice stone, a precious corner <em>stone<\/em>, And he who <strong><u>believes<\/u><\/strong> in Him will not be disappointed.\u201d <sup>7<\/sup> This precious value, then, is for you who <strong><u>believe<\/u><\/strong>; but for those who disbelieve, \u201cThe stone which the builders rejected, This became the very corner <em>stone,<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1 John 3:23 (NASB95) &#8211; <sup>23<\/sup> This is His commandment, that we <strong><u>believe <\/u><\/strong>in the name of His Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, just as He commanded us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1 John 5:1 (NASB95) &#8211; <sup>1<\/sup> Whoever <strong><u>believes<\/u><\/strong> that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and whoever loves the Father loves the <em>child<\/em> born of Him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1 John 5:5 (NASB95) &#8211; <sup>5<\/sup> Who is the one who overcomes the world, but he who <strong><u>believes<\/u><\/strong> that Jesus is the Son of God?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1 John 5:10 (NASB95) &#8211; <sup>10<\/sup> The one who <strong><u>believes <\/u><\/strong>in the Son of God has the testimony in himself; the one who <strong><u>does <\/u><\/strong>not <strong><u>believe<\/u><\/strong> God has made Him a liar, because <strong><u>he has<\/u><\/strong> not <strong><u>believed<\/u><\/strong> in the testimony that God has given concerning His Son.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1 John 5:13 (NASB95) &#8211; <sup>13<\/sup> These things I have written to you who <strong><u>believe<\/u><\/strong> in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know that you have eternal life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><u>CONCLUSION<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The above about one hundred usages of <em>pisteu\u014d<\/em> alone in the context of salvation comprise strong evidence that salvation is by <em>pisteu\u014d<\/em> alone.&nbsp; For a while, everything was right between God and our ancestors, Adam and Eve.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; But Adam sinned, and his sin was passed down to all of humankind whereby we became separated from God.&nbsp; Nothing we could do on our own could bridge that separation so that without God\u2019s intervention, hell would be our eternal destination.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fortunately for us, in His great love and mercy God provided humankind with the only means of salvation, which is through Jesus Christ who is God\u2019s only unique Son.&nbsp; While retaining His deity, God the Son became a man in Jesus, lived a perfect life, and died on the cross, thus fulfilling the law Himself and taking on Himself the punishment for the sins of all those who would ever repent and trust in Him for their salvation.&nbsp; John 10:27-29).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Upon your salvation, you must find a spiritually solid Bible-believing church that (1) teaches that the sixty-six books of the Bible are the inspired, inerrant, and infallible Word of God, (2) believes in the doctrine of the Trinity, which means that there is one God who eternally exists as three distinct Persons \u2014 the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit \u2013 and each Person is fully God, and (3) teaches that salvation is by grace through faith and not by works (e.g., water baptism by immersion).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>ONE CAUTIONARY POINT.&nbsp;
